iLight , an art exhibit in Singapore, is the first and only sustainable light art festival which is displayed from March 9th to April 1st 2012 nightly. The art exhibits are sculptures ranging from recycled plastic soda bottles, to premiere LED walls. The eco-friendly exhibit is providing a gateway into the future to see where technology is meeting art. As we become more sustainable-focused as a society, as does our artwork, which allows us to be proud of the artwork created out of scraps. Featuring 30 exciting art exhibits, this year's theme is "Light Meets Asia". Impressive feats of technology bring spectacular results. A revolutionary lighting festival in Belgium called Ghent Lichetfestival (Light Festival for us English speakers) 2012 brings to life some amazing works of art. Below is a massive 55,000 LED Light cathedral that stole the show. With over 30 unique exhibitions ranging from misting movie screens, to goldfish payphones, this Belgium festival is being put on the map as a premium light art exhibition across the globe. The giant Cathedral as seen in the pictures was made up of wood and of course hundreds of thousands of colored LED lights, and consumes only 20Kwatt / hour of electricity. Putting that into perspective, the amount of energy used is about 400 standard 60W light bulbs. What is Lima Peru known for besides some ancient ruins? How about DJ Lights ? An interactive art exhibit, created by Cinimod Studio called DJ Lights, is a new age art installation combining unique LED Lights with body movement. This spectacular show allows the DJ to control a whole sea of lights in the crowd. 85 inflatable LED globes change and dance between colors as the DJ's body movement is captured and displayed in colored form. The exhibition contains an egg-shaped structures where the DJ can control the crowd. A high-accuracy thermal control tracking camera senses the DJ's movements and as they point, gesture, dance and play, the software translates body movement into light and sound action.
